Southern California: Summer 2005

San Diego, CA

ROAD TRIP! With Kim's family taking a summer vacation to visit her grandparents in California, we decided we'd make the trek out there as well. I had never met anyone from Kim's mom's side of the family, so I was excited to make the trip. In addition, I knew it'd be fun to go to the famous San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, and other such places.

Given our limited budget, we opted to drive out to southern California. The trip from Norman to San Diego took about 23 hours -- a long trip, but though territory through which I have never traveled. It was also quite fun to drive through extreme southern California, where the temperature was probably in the 115-120F range. From the zoo and a Padres game, to being able to get to know Kim's family better, I had great fun during the week we were there. I've finally processed some pictures we took during that trip (the total number of which ran into the hundreds), so feel free to browse!
