The Thurston Lava Tube is quite large. There's a lit section several hundred feet long, followed by an "at your own risk" area. Since we had left our flashlights in the car, and we were already short on time (we wanted to get to the end of Chain of Craters Road before nightfall), we opted not to take that adventure. That rest of the lava tube trailed off into the darkness.
