Northeastern MN - Winter Break

Kim and I went up to Bluefin Bay (in Tofte, MN) for a few days in early January. I hadn't been up there since high school (~6+ years), and I was excited to get some good skiing done. For those who don't know, Tofte is in the far northeastern reaches of Minnesota, about an hour from the Minnesota - Canada border. The area was in a very severe drought, and snowfall was lacking. Fortunately, there was just enough snow in-land from Lake Superior to make skiing at Lutsen possible. Otherwise, we thought about doing some cross-country skiing, but the relative lack of snowfall would have made that quite difficult. We did take the short hike up Mt. Olberg, which provided for some good picture opportunities.
